CLAMP ON SENSOR CT9848

The CT9848 is the signal detection clamp for selective and two clamp earth resistance measurement with the FT6041. In selective earth resistance measurement, which HIOKI refers to as Measuring Earth with a Clamp (MEC), it senses the measurement current of a specific earth electrode in a connected multiple earthed system without disconnecting that electrode for the test. In two clamp earth resistance measurement, it senses the resulting current in a stakeless method in which the FT9847 injects the test signal into the grounding conductor.
The CT9848 accommodates conductors up to 52 mm in diameter and busbars up to 78 mm × 20 mm. It is equipped with a 2 m cable terminated with a dedicated connector for the FT6041. The clamp is rated CAT IV 300 V and CAT III 600 V. It is intended for measurement signal detection with the FT6041 and can be used in both selective and two clamp earth resistance measurement.
For stakeless earth resistance measurement, the CT9848 is used together with the FT9847 Signal Induction Clamp. This two clamp method with the FT6041 requires both clamps. Both the CT9848 and the FT9847 are already included in the FT6041-91 Earth Tester set.
